Fun things we could be doing

Tropical island paradise aka let’s get my boat from one of Papua New Guinea’s islands

I bought a sailboat in Papua New Guinea before the pandemic and I spent a good part of a year living onboard and getting through the endless list of things that needed to get fixed. Because “boat”, as my smart boat-owning friends explained, stands for “bust out another thousand”. It was an adventure to say the least. Picture remote location and lots of traditional and ancient ways of life and beliefs held by so many peoples of the region. Picture hundreds of languages of this most linguistically diverse country in the world mixing in with English and Chinese along with the encroachment of their respective capitalist interests. It’s a messy kind of situation, to say the least. But then there are pristine waters, the greenest kind of forests I’ve ever seen, birds of paradise and truly breathtaking beauty. I’ve made acquaintances with a number of people whose perspectives thought me a lot (some of them former pirates). I’ve also visited places where most people lived in incredibly slow and simpler ways that were fascinating to experience. So, holiday? We could spend our time exploring the incredible beauty, snorkeling, diving, fishing, visiting little villages (maybe I’ll run into my old mates) and going to check on the good old boaty mc boatface. And who knows, maybe if we are lucky, we could even sail it around the place a little? It has been semi-stolen and while I have some clue where it may be, I have no clue how watertight the thing is at this stage. But wouldn’t it be boring if not for the adventure of the unknown? And then, if my baby turns out to be a shipwreck, I’ll need your caring shoulders to shed some tears on…

Having lived on the boat, I know a thing or two about them. I’ve traveled on a few other yachts too. So if you’re looking for company to join you on your sailing adventures, I can certainly do more than standing there looking pretty ;)

Roller-coaster dates

I’m a child when it comes to adventure parks, running around and trying to check every single thing out. I’ll want to go on the most intense and fucked up roller-coasters and all the scary stuff that’s there. It might not be physically possible, but we can try to hold hands, as we experience the exhilarating sense of danger in our bodies ;) I’ll want to race you in the cars and I promise to do a lot of intentional bumper smashing! Lots of laughter and pure childish joy. Touching each other after we’ve put our bodies through all of this? Exhilarating!

Diving in Raja Ampat archipelago

I’ve heard so much about this place, but still haven’t made it there. If you’re into diving, I’m sure you heard about it too. I would have to refresh my diving ticket, so maybe this is something new that you always wanted to learn and try? I have some West Papuan friends I can ask for local tips. Speaking of, I’ll only travel there together if you agree to do our best to spend in local West Papuan owned businesses, because I’m not into calling this place Indonesia. West Papua Merdeka, always! Having said that, while I don’t speak any local languages, I do speak enough Bahasa to get around.

And on that note, I would happily visit Java, Sumatra, Borneo and anywhere in so-called Indonesia with you! I love the food, I love the vibes, I love surfing lessons, and I find that place familiar and comfortable. I can be your hot and street-smart guide ;)

Spa dates

I always crave to balance the fast-paced lifestyle elements with slowness, gentleness and relaxation. Who doesn’t love a spa? I would be delighted to be pampered with massages, visit hammams, sweat it out in the saunas (this is one of my favourite things ever, add a natural cold stream or a cold plunge to the mix?, yessss please). And then when our bodies are so deliciously tender, warm and heavy, we can succumb to these sensations in the bedroom and awaken with the freshest energy and desire.

Iceland

Honestly, I feel like this is self-explanatory ;) I can’t believe I still never made it there, but I want to see it all and I’m more than happy to endure long hikes and nights in a tent to reach places of wonder.

I’m generally very happy to take part in active adventures, be in the mountains, etc. I’ve done an extensive tree-climbing workshop and have my own harness with basic gear, so rock-climbing won’t be completely foreign to me. I am generally happy to try anything that’s remotely in the “sports” category, because I loooooove doing things with my body (makes sense, hey?), am well coordinated and fast at learning new things!
